Thanks to the internet, you no longer need to be a big production company to get your work noticed. All you need is some talent, social media buzz, and you’re ready to go. Continue reading to see seven incredible fan-made short films.

7. Blinky

When it comes to robots, having a mind of their own may not always be a good thing, and this incredible short film by Ruairi Robinson shows why. It stars Max Records, best known as Max from Where the Wild Things Are.

6. The Archiver

Fan-made CG films don’t get much cooler than “The Archiver” by Artfx. It’s basically “an all-out sci-fi visual feast and no worse for it.” Unfortunately, a synopsis was not provided.

5. The Black Hole

Created by Phil and Olly, The Black Home is a short film that tells the story of a sleep-deprived office worker [who] “accidentally discovers a black hole – and then greed gets the better of him.”

4. Pivot

In Pivot — a fan-made CG movie, “a man is witness to a murder and takes pictures of the killer, he has to run for his life. During the chase he is able to turn the tables and the prey becomes the hunter; all resulting in an unfortunate ending.”

3. Mortal Kombat Rebirth

No, Mortal Kombat Rebirth isn’t a trailer for an upcoming video game, but rather a “realistic view” on the franchise. This could also mean a new movie is on the horizon. We know Warner Bros. is interested in the franchise, so it’s safe to assume something is on the horizon.

2. Salesman Pete

Salesman Pete could quite possibly be the coolest fan-made animated short we’ve ever seen. Here’s the premise: “Pete is a nice and clumsy salesman. But he’s also a deadly super secret agent with a microprocessor implanted into his brain by some mad scientists from the government.”

1. Fight the Foot

In the amazing fan-made Fight the Foot movie, “April O’Neil reported on a new gang in the streets, [and] then it got personal; only those below the streets can help her now.”
