If there’s one truth to cars, it’s this: next year’s models will normally cause you to regret the main one you simply bought. At the Tokyo Motor Show, these standards will most likely hold true, with Toyota set to produce a smaller-than-current-Prius as the Prius C, or “Aqua”. The C, that takes some interesting technological steps forward, packs a hybrid drivetrain, coupling an as-yet undisclosed “high-output” motor unit having a 1.5-liter gasoline engine.
Important thing to know
Based on Toyota, this mixture will yield 50 plus mpg within the city, the greatest city gas mileage for just about any non-plug-in vehicle. Engaging in more experimental territory, Toyota can also be likely to unveil the FCV-R concept, this model previewing a hydrogen fuel cell-powered vehicle with room for four passengers and luggage space becoming focused on a 2015 market launch. This combined with the FT-EV III (that will preview a future electric version from the company’s iQ model having a short-range battery-powered drive train) complete Toyota’s morsels for that new model year. Stay tuned in for further pricing and release dates because they become available, and head down beyond the break to determine what to anticipate in the new Prius.
